this is something else

happy friday,

im releasing three songs on monday

wanted to give you the backstory before it arrives.

the name

about a year ago i combined all my favorite music influences into one project and needed a name for it.

at the time i was living with another nate. close friends started calling me “le” - came from our love with this french band l’impératrice. “le” in english just means “the.” loved the abstractness of that.

le felt cool but incomplete, so i started trying to add words. went through like 50 options. then i looked at my water bottle.

inspire.

le-inspire. leinspire.

locked it in.

the journey

first EP dropped last april. 7 songs. cool first experiment that taught me about music, releases, branding, marketing - all of it.

after that i took it casual for six months. lived in Hawaii. travelled SE Asia.

when i got back to Utah last October, i blueprinted an entire 5-song project. but it felt like too much. forced.

so i started fresh and wrote down: “this project is something else.”

looked at it.

this project is something else.

from there it flowed. three songs. some of my favorite work yet.

le tracklist

runaway - what i was feeling after the first leinspire release. six years in utah. needed to expand. do something new. this song feels like suiting up and preparing for a mission ahead.

island coast - Hawaii. the most beautiful place i’ve experienced. originally made this in Bali thinking of the jungle club. reworked it. added some leinspire sauce. what came out is the euphoric energy of the island. home is where the heart is.

sleepwalkin - born January 4th. started as a random beat, messing around with toms and percussion. after a few sessions the simplicity sparked something. added vocals and guitar and it just appeared out of nowhere. this track is about leaving the door open. miracles. synchronicities. letting them in.

i never thought that i would become a writer but i am finding so much joy and meaning through my writing and my music
